Ben Gikaru also known as Berna is a kenyan,gospel artist.Born on 25th feb 1982,First born Son to Joseph and Monica Gikaru and brother to Eve,Maryanne and Carolyne Gikaru.He started singing way back in grade 03 especially during family and church events.He gave his life to Christ Jesus back in 1995.He participated in school choirs where he developed a keen intrest in Music.While in highschool(year 2000),his mainstyle was accapella and afrofusion.Jointly with friends he joined two groups, 1."Pentalive" in the above indicated year and 2."D-serve(2004-2008)".This offered a perfect opportunity to perform and minister is Schools,Churches and few Concerts.In mid 2007,Ben felt a need/conviction to do this art-Music,a bit different from what he had done thus went solo in the year 2008 as "Ben Gikaru AKA Berna" and in 2009,he recorded music under(a.Romeo productions and b.Rymex productions) releasing his first Debut album entitled "ASANTE".The 08 tracks album is a collection of rich musical content exploring genres such as afrojazz,Kapuka,Zouk etc.It has never been a smooth journey but everyday has been a learning experince and thank God for Ben is under Mentorship and spiritual authority under Pastors Allan and Cathy Kiuna from Jubilee Christian Center.He was also shortly under Mentorship of Pastor Ben Achero,before he flew to SA.He is a very passionate Minister out to win souls and He is in his own words"Set out as a Voice to win souls for Christ, while bringing sobriety,integrity and excellence in the Gospel music industry".He currently resides in Nairobi, kenya.
