Emmanuel Soma aka Manu Sax, an accomplished saxophonist in the gospel music industry in Kenya. A Sudanese born, he has released his instrumental album "Pure Worship" a collection of worship songs in English and Swahili, Get yourself a copy at Wakestar Bookshop Nrb, Impact Giftshop Eld.
You will be surprised to know that he is a serious medical student at Moi University, with a calling for ministr...y, music and yet steady in his academic career.
He started playing the recorder in primary school, picked up the clarinet and saxophone while at Starehe Boys Centre where he played in the marching band and was Band Sergeant 2004, after high school he then took up the saxophone seriously in 2006 and has been playing ever since, a member of Deliverance Church Eldoret, but has played before in DC Kasarani n NPC Woodley before.
Ever wondered why it is hard to get music off your mind, no matter the genre/ beats/ secular/ gospel?. It is because music has power. Even the devil knows it. God even had to not only appoint the Levites (priests) but also THE MUSICIANS.
Music is a ministry of the PROPHETIC, 2kings 3 14-15 " Now bring me a harpist. and as he was playing , the spirit of the lord came down upon him and he (Elisha) prophesied... " Elisha when King Jehoshapat and King Joram went to seek his counsel about war.
God's Music brings DELIVERANCE; King Saul, David would play and the evil spirits would leave King Saul. Paul and Silas had no reason to praise God yet they praised him in chains, and when God reigned on them, all their chains were broken
Music manifests the SUPERNATURAL POWER OF GOD, he says he dwells among the praises of his people, when we worship God, he fights for us, because we are in his presence
2 chron 20;22 as they began to sing and praise, the lord set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab v 21 Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the Lord and praise him for the splendour of his holiness.
And yet the devil has turned his music for his own avail... Gospel musicans are no longer gospel. You ask a musician who is your pastor?... eehh he went to church 3 months ago, we no longer take time to pray, listen to God before we write songs that is why our songs have no impact, are lifeless, last only a month in the airwaves, that is why they can be played in clubs, and you have to be informed its a gospel song for you to actually be sure. its a SHAME.
Music that is going to change this generation, have an impact, win souls must be based on THE WORD OF GOD... and yes before we change others, we must first allow God to CHANGE ME first.
