BRIEF

I wrote the first verse of this song in a season where I was seeing people whom I had grown to love slowly drift away from church and eventually from the faith, their leaving being caused or catalyzed by church hurt. We cried to the Father for them with many groanings and tears and also tried to reach out to them but…

…and I wondered, “WHO WAS GOING TO LET THEM KNOW THAT IT WAS OKAY? WHO WAS GOING TO LET THEM KNOW THAT THEY COULD COME BACK HOME AND THAT THEY WOULD FIND LOVE IN PLACE OF THE CONDEMNATION THAT THEY PROBABLY FEARED/DREADED?

I noticed another significant factor that came into play in their drifting away. A believer whose heart has nurtured God’s word/seed and caused it to grow to a certain extent and then turns back could be an indicator of the presence of an element that’s causing a ‘choking’. Please keep in mind that this is not a standard reason for backslidings. The reasons could be as varied as the number of cases for all I know. This here was just the general and may I add, accurate, diagnosis then.

So what are these chokers/choking elements? Matthew 13:22 states them clearly.

 1. The cares of this world

 2. The deceitfulness of riches.

And we find a third in Mark 4:19,

  3. The lusts of other things entering in.

In Luke 21:34 where Jesus was speaking about the signs of the end times, he warned against being taken by the cares of this world, (And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and CARES OF THIS LIFE, and so that day come upon you unawares.) and guess what time it is? It's the end...

Verse one of the song basically paints a picture of such a one being choked.

I’m speaking to all those who may have strayed away from the Father’s love for one reason or the other. He still loves you deeply and He’s waiting for you with open arms; just longing for you. The choice is up to you, I’ll just say, “Weh rudi home!” (“You come back home!”) in the most polite manner that I can. :-)

And once you get back into His loving arms, verse three talks about how we can live free. Sin will not have dominion over us. He who called us is Holy and He calls us to be Holy (1st Peter 1:15-16). There is sufficient grace to-usward to live as God has called us to live. The truth is that we can live in victory over sin. How? It is up to us to appropriate that grace. Now would God require of us something that we can’t do or that He won’t help us do? He who calls us is faithful and He will do it (1st Thessalonians 5:23- 24). Holiness is not an option. It is a command/requirement in God’s Kingdom. Sure, there is no one perfect who does not sin (Ecclesiastes 7:20), but what I am saying is that sin will NOT dominate us. We will not be its slave. It will not rule over us. We have the victory and that’s why we can sing the ‘victory song’… (hint hint…yep, there’s a song. LOOK OUT for it :-). Anyway, so this also speaks to all of us who call ourselves followers of Christ. Catch the revelation and appropriate the grace and remember it’s ALL by His spirit.

In all this, let us remember not be judges of one another. That is not our role. We are simply called to love. Please feel free to hit me up in case of anything. The rest is in the song…

LYRICS featuring Nahbee

BASE: Luke 15:11-32

Got tear stained pages with your names written on them steady crying to the Father for your souls

Rudi home, rudi home…

Hii ni ya mthii aki-wa ame-fall ame-slip

(This is for someone when (s)he has fallen or slipped)

Weh usijali, kila mthii righteous hu-trip (Proverbs 24:16, Ecclesiastes 7:20)

(Don't you worry, everyone righteous trips)

God ni justifier, so si nani ku-condemn? (Romans 8:33-34)

(It is God who justifies so who are we to condemn?)

Just pray for them, gently restore them and eeeheeem (Galatians 6:1)

Turudi home tume-roam fi long

(Let's go back home, we have roamed for long)

Mi narudi home nime-roam fi long

(I'm going back home, I have roamed for long)

Prodigal gal,

hakuna fear

(there's no fear)

Love ya God perfect itanishikilia (1st John 4:18)

(God's love is perfect, I can hold on to it)

Turudi home tume-roam fi long

Love ya God perfect itakushikilia (1st John 4:18)

(God's love is perfect, you can hold on to it)

Umefuata raha za dunia

(you have chased the pleasures of this life)

Anasa na pesa pia

(comforts and money as well)

Wazishika hazishikiki

(you catch them but you can't seem to hold on to them)

Zaingia we hutosheki

(they keep coming in but you are never satisfied)

tena hukamiliki

(you are also not complete/fulfilled)

Zishazidi riziki

(you have more than enough)

na huridhiki

(but you are not settled/satisfied with that)

Mbo-na huridhiki ai!

(why are you not satisfied?)

While u diggin’ & u diggin’ & u diggin’ for that ore

You need to know that it’s Him you really searching for

that tugging on your heart?

That’s the father calling

Why u stalling

still ignoring?

Still running and hiding

Jesus Him still abiding

He be all up in yo zone

And the Father’s eyes be upon

the horizon

Ever hopeful that one day His long lost son

Will come back home

Rudi home ume-roam fi long

Life si rehearsal na um! Filo

Hakuna kitu ka ku-fall in love in slo mo

Sound track ya mwisho ni dirge na hatukuoni no more

Baba niweke on guard kama Papa

Shirandula/ Heri kuishi bila ndula

Zanifikisha kwa hasidi wa kunifisha

Siri hizi nyingi jo wanaficha

Chungu nzima ka’a kisima cha giningi

niweke under cover ka’a vitabu za msingi

Kristo, we ni barabara nitoe kwa mathara /Muhathara/

ulijitoa kafara/ kuokoa haka kafala/ ongoza me ndafalla, {ama follow}

Juu kupoteza direction ni kufuata erection

Na si unajua vile kwo huenda after post election

Na wakikataa correction

sitaki tension, wacha tu nirudi home tumange hii pension…..*2
